KEC acquires Latvian exploration offshore license together with Polish partner PKN Orlen (April 16th 2008)

A group of KEC and the large Polish refinery group Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. ("PKN ORLEN"), KEC being the operator, acquired joint through their respective wholly owned subsidiaries the Latvian company Balin Energy in which they hold 50% shares each. Balin Energy is license holder of two Latvian exploration offshore licenses. The partners intend to conduct an ambitious exploration program for oil.
This acquisition further strengthens the Eurasia portfolio of KEC and adds exploration options in EU waters to the existing production position for oil, gas and condensate in Russia and Ukraine.

 

Kuwait Energy Company awarded a second block in Pakistan (Feb 2nd 2008)

With the addition of the Jherruck Block, the Company now owns two exploratory assets in Pakistan. The Company owns a 40%WI in this asset that is mainly gas. The Block has a resource potential of 27mmboe and is expected to come onstream in 2010. The Company has the rights tom operate this Block that is currently operated by New Horizon Exploration and Production Ltd, Pakistan, the owners of the remaining 60%WI.

Kuwait Energy acquires 100% of Cardinal Resources Plc, UK assets in Ukraine (Dec 27th)

Cardinal Resources Plc is a UK registered and publicly listed company that produces gas and condensate in Ukraine. Kuwait Energy acquired 100% of Cardinal Resources Plc’s assets in Ukraine. This acquisition was completed on the 29th December 2007.
This acquisition opens many new, potential opportunities for growth for Kuwait Energy in Ukraine. Ukraine offers attractive acquisition terms and low costs, while being an aspiring future EU member.

Abu Dhabi National Energy Cmpany PJSC (TAQA) signs letter of intent (LOI) with Kuwait Energy Company (Oct 17th)

With the aim of increasing its portfolio of assets and reinforcing its position as a global energy company, the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), announced today that it has signed a Letter of Intent with the Kuwait Energy Company (KEC), a Kuwait-based oil exploration and production company, in respect of opportunities in the oil and gas sector in Egypt, Oman, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Iran.

Kuwait Energy Keen to Invest in Pakistan (April 16th)

Chairman of Kuwait Energy, Dr. Manssour Aboukhamseen called on the Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Amanullah Khan Jadoon here on Monday and expressed keen interest of his company to invest US $ 45 million in oil and gas exploration activities in Pakistan.
Welcoming the Kuwait Energy delegation; the Minister said that the government was according top priority to boost the oil and gas exploration activities in the country to meet its growing energy need for sustaining GDP growth momentum.
